you will need
10 oz. goat cheese log
4 to 6 plump dates, pitted and chopped
4 slices of bacon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 to 2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/2 cup pecans, roughly chopped
method
Add goat cheese to a bowl and loosen it up a bit with milk. Stir until the goat cheese is spreadable (add more milk to get the desired consistency). Grab a frying pan and cook bacon. Remove and place on a paper towel, then roughly chop. Drain any fat from the frying pan and melt the butter. When the butter has melted, add the brown sugar and stir until it is combined and the sugar has melted. Then add soy sauce, bacon, pecans, and dates. Stir everything together and cook for another minute or two.
Take a serving dish and smooth out the goat cheese. Top with bacon ingredients. Serve with crackers or toasted bread.
the culinary chase’s note:
Add a bit of heat to this dip by adding a few shots of hot sauce. Enjoy!
