chocolate mini egg bark

chocolate mini egg barkSwitch up the Easter egg hunt with pieces of mini egg bark. Chocolate mini egg bark is super easy to make and will be a hit with the kiddos. Wrap up a few chunks of bark in small bags and hide it throughout the house.  While I am not a fan of mini eggs, I do like the micro version. They are a perfect size for this recipe.  I prefer candy/desserts that don’t require much finesse or fuss but deliver a visual wow factor.  If you enjoyed making this, try my chocolate bark with sour gummies.

you will need

1 pkg chocolate chips
micro mini eggs

micro mini eggsMelt chocolate in a bowl over simmering water; make sure the bowl does not touch the water. When melted remove the bowl from heat. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Pour melted chocolate onto parchment paper and spread out. Don’t worry about the shape; you will break into pieces afterwards. Allow the chocolate to cool slightly, then begin placing the mini eggs on top. Sprinkle seal salt over top (optional).  Move to the fridge and keep there until solid.  Once solid, remove from fridge and gently break up pieces.

the culinary chase’s note:

I used dark chocolate, however,  milk or white chocolate will also work.  Enjoy!
